So since I found out while I was incredibly sick I didn't actually get to enjoy or express the excitement how I would have imagined I would have. I didn't tell Bob I was taking the test just in case it wasn't positive I didn't want to get his hopes up. But since it came up positive I knew I had to tell him that night and the reason why I couldn't take my prescription meds!
So he was sitting on the couch working on his laptop and I came in and curled up next to him. I asked him if he loved me and of course he said yes :) Then I asked him if he loved Chomper and again he said yes. So then I asked him if he would love a little boy or girl and waited for his response ;) He got all excited and of course wanted to know if I was serious or not ;) There were hugs, kisses, and tears in the Clements house that night :) Again that was on March 2nd.
Well of course we were debating on when to tell our family and how. We were both itching to share the good news but of course I wanted it to be special! My sister and her family were staying with us the week of the 21st so we thought that would be a good time since everyone would be together. The fam was over at our house for dinner and it seemed like everyone in the room was on their iPhones! Facebooking, words with friends, angry birds, etc, I blame Bob for that ;) So I was texting back and forth with Bob wondering how we should tell them. Seeing as how everyone was on their phone I thought a text message with my positive pregnancy test saying "We're expecting!" was a good idea :) I hid in the other room with the kids as the message got sent :) Everyone started looking around wondering if it was true or not then got up with all their excitement :) Again the Clements house was filled with hugs, kisses, and tears :)
Now we needed to find a way to tell Bob's fam! We invited them all over for dinner that weekend but since Joy and Justin live in Michigan we wanted to make sure they were included too! So Bob set up a webcam over our TV so we could Skype with them and they could see the whole family! Joy being the smart cookie she is automatically guessed what was up but we tried to convince her otherwise ;) So after dinner we're sitting on the couch Skyping with Joy and Justin who were at a friends house getting ready to play a game. Just as they are about to get off I'm talking to Joy and I ask her, "So how would you like to be an auntie?!?" Haha she got all excited while I think everyone else here in the room was in shock! They wanted to know if that was us announcing that we're pregnant ;) Of course everyone was excited and proud grandpa announced it to the congregation the next morning :)
The next day we called our grandmothers and close friends and shared the good news. I wanted to make sure everyone close knew so I could announce it on Facebook that week ;) Everyone at my work already knew because my co-worker Kevin kept asking me why I wasn't drinking and I tried to lead him on thinking that we were TRYING. But being the stinker that he is he kept asking me straight forward over and over, I just couldn't lie anymore so I gave in and told everyone ;) So with everyone in the loop we were free to announce it on facebook!
Me - "Alright let the news spread that our lives will soon be complete! That's right Bob and I are expecting :D I'm 2 months along today and the due date is November 7th which is funny enough the day after my mom's birthday and 2 days after Bob's dad's birthday :) So to all the mommies out there feel free to send all your advice my way ;) We couldn't be happier!!!"
Bob - "It’s official! iPad 2 will be the last non-baby-friendly gadget I buy for a while. We have confirmation that there is a bun in the oven! ETA is 11.07.11. If the doctors are right on the date I’m buying all of you slurpees! Diane and I are EXTREMELY excited."
